Early Roles in TV and Film
Betsy Túrnez started her acting career in the early 1990s. She had some small roles in movies like Escenes d'una orgia a Formentera (1994) and En brazos de la mujer madura (1996). Around 1999 and 2000, she appeared in a few episodes of the TV show Calle nueva.
In the 2000s, Betsy was very busy with both movies and television. She also worked in theater, teaching acting and helping directors. In 2001, she was part of three TV shows: El cor de la ciutat, Esencia de poder, and Periodistas. In 2002, she played a character named Mariola in the series Policías, en el corazón de la calle. A year later, she played a nurse in El pantano.
Betsy returned to movies in 2004 in Semen, una historia de amor. This film was directed by Inés París and Daniela Fejerman. That same year, she appeared in the police TV series El comisario. She ended the 2000s by playing a receptionist in the movie Los ojos de Julia.
Gaining Wider Recognition
Even though Betsy Túrnez had mostly played smaller roles before, the 2010s brought her more national attention. After appearing in the series Kubala, Moreno i Manchón, she joined the cast of the show Pop Rapid. In Pop Rapid, she played a regular character named Gina.
After becoming more well-known from Pop Rapid, Betsy showed how versatile she was as an actress. She played many different characters in the funny TV program José Mota presenta.... In 2015, she played the role of Mar in the comedy movie Ocho apellidos catalanes.
In 2016, Betsy Túrnez played Lídia, a main character in Marc Crehuet's film El rey tuerto. Her performance in this movie was so good that she was nominated for a Gaudí Award in 2017. This nomination was for "best female lead," which is a very important award. She also appeared in the films Contratiempo and 100 metros in 2016.
Later, in 2017, she joined the cast of the TV series Cuéntame cómo pasó and El fin de la comedia. Since 2018, Betsy Túrnez has been playing the character of Adela in the popular series Benvinguts a la família.
