Who is Bi Shumin?
Bi Shumin was born in Yili. Her family was from Shandong. She grew up in Beijing. When she was young, she worked as a nurse and a psychiatrist in Tibet.
Her Early Career and First Book
Bi Shumin served as a medic in the People's Liberation Army. Her experiences there inspired her first published story. It was a novella called "Kunlun Shang," which means "Death in Kunlun".

Bi Shumin is known for her stories about women. Her early works often featured women in the Chinese military in Tibet. Later, her stories focused on doctors and other medical workers in cities. She also writes books that help people live better lives.
