Bidjara (Bulloo River) facts for kids
The Bidjara people are an Aboriginal Australian group from south-western Queensland. They are also known as Bitjara or Bithara. The Bidjara people spoke a special kind of language called a dialect of the Ngura language. It's important not to mix them up with other groups like the Warrego River Pitjara or the Badjiri people. Those groups live further east in Queensland.
Where the Bidjara People Lived
The Bidjara people lived in a large area of land. It was about 4,000 square miles (10,360 square kilometers). This area was in south-western Queensland. Their main home was around a place called Bulloo Downs. Their land stretched south to the Bulloo Lake floodplain. The western edge of their country was the Grey Range. To the north, their land reached Orient. The eastern border was near Clyde.
