Binka was a fun British cartoon show for kids. It was all about a big, friendly cat named Binka. He loved to visit three different houses every day. Why? For three yummy meals, of course! The show ran from 2001 to 2005. There were 26 short episodes, each about five minutes long. You could watch them on weekday mornings on BBC1.

Meet the Characters in Binka

This section introduces you to the main characters in the Binka cartoon.

Binka: The Main Cat

Binka is the star of the show! He's a big, blue and white cat. Binka loves many things. He likes Suki, who is another cat. He also enjoys chasing squirrels, hunting, and eating. After all that, he loves to nap! But Binka has some dislikes too. He doesn't like Spit, another cat. He also dislikes baths and being bothered by the squirrel.

Suki: The Stylish Cat

Suki is a purple female cat. She really likes Binka. Suki can be very friendly towards Binka. But sometimes, she can also be a bit proud or distant. She walks in a very graceful and fancy way.

Tango: The Playful Puppy

Tango is a fun-loving puppy. He lives with the Lockett family. Tango likes Binka a lot. Sometimes, he might annoy Binka a little bit. Even so, Binka and Tango are very good friends.

Spit: The Grumpy Cat

Spit is a dark green cat. He is often grumpy and doesn't like Binka at all. Spit is like the "bad guy" in the show. He often tries to scare Binka and Tango.

Ollie: The Curious Cat

Ollie is a ginger-colored cat. You often see him peeking out to see what Binka is doing. Ollie and Binka are not enemies. But they are not really close friends either.

The Human Friends

  • Mrs. Dawson – She owns the first house Binka visits. Binka goes there regularly for food.
  • The Lockett Family – They own the second house Binka visits. Tango the puppy lives with them.
  • Mr. Bolt – He owns the third house Binka visits. Binka goes there often for his meals.

Binka on DVD

In October 2005, a DVD of the Binka series came out. It was called Binka and Friends. This DVD had about nine or ten episodes from the show. It is the only DVD ever released for Binka.

Binka was shown in many different countries! It was translated into other languages so more kids could watch it.
