Birgit Vogel-Heuser (born in 1961) is a German computer scientist. She is also a professor at the Technical University of Munich (TUM), which is a very important university in Germany. Her work is highly respected and has been used by many other scientists and researchers.

Birgit Vogel-Heuser studies how to design and build computer systems and software. She especially focuses on something called embedded systems. These are like tiny computers built into everyday things, such as cars, smart home devices, or factory machines. She also looks at how these systems can work together, even if they are spread out in different places.

Her Education and Career

Birgit Vogel-Heuser went to RWTH Aachen University to study engineering. She earned her first engineering degree in 1987. Later, in 1990, she received her PhD, which is a very high degree, in mechanical engineering from the same university.

In 2009, she joined the Technical University of Munich. There, she became a professor in charge of a special department. This department focuses on automation (making machines do tasks by themselves) and information systems (how computers store and use information).
