When the Circle Line Stages 4 & 5 opened on 8 October 2011, even more people started using Bishan station. Many travelers transfer here to switch between the North South Line and the Circle Line. Because so many people use it, especially during peak hours, some people even call it the "Bishan Queue." This nickname shows how popular and well-used the station is.

Each MRT station has a special code. Bishan MRT Station's code is "N8" for the North South Line and "CC15" for the Circle Line. The "N8" code is linked to the nearby Junction 8 Shopping Centre. You might also see unique art seats called Matrix on the Circle Line platforms.
