Kids Encyclopedia Facts

Bizzy Lizzy was a fun British children's TV show from the 1960s. It told the stories of a little girl named Bizzy Lizzy who had a very special secret. Her dress had a magic flower, and when she touched it, her wishes could come true!

The Magic of Bizzy Lizzy

Bizzy Lizzy's magic flower was amazing, but it came with a few rules. She could make up to four wishes each day. If she made more than four wishes, all her previous wishes for that day would disappear! Her very first wish every day was always to bring her Eskimo doll, Little Mo, to life.

How the Show Started

The Bizzy Lizzy stories were first shown as part of another popular children's TV series called Watch with Mother. They were featured in a section of that show called Picture Book in the early 1960s. The stories were narrated by Maria Bird, who also helped produce 'Watch With Mother'.

Later, in 1967, Bizzy Lizzy became so popular that she got her very own TV series! This new series had 13 exciting episodes.

Bizzy Lizzy in Comics

Bizzy Lizzy's adventures weren't just on TV. From 1967 onwards, you could also read about her in a comic book called Pippin. This meant even more magical stories for fans to enjoy!
