Black's Store, also known as the Brettun & Black Museum, is a historic building in Hampton, Illinois. It was once a very important store. When it opened in 1849, it was the biggest store in Northwest Illinois. Imagine how many things you could buy there!
This special building is made of brick and has three stories. It was one of the first places in the Midwest to have an elevator. An elevator is a machine that lifts people or goods between floors. A person named Ron Nelson helped fix the old elevator recently.
