Black Oak is a small, unincorporated community located in Caldwell County, in the U.S. state of Missouri. An unincorporated community is a place that doesn't have its own local government, like a city or town, but it still has people living there.
History of Black Oak
Black Oak was first planned out in the early 1870s. It got its name from a group of black oak trees that grew nearby where the community was started.
A post office was opened in Black Oak in 1868. This post office helped people send and receive mail for many years. It stayed open until 1904, when it closed down.
