Bluit is a fascinating ghost town located in Roosevelt County, in the southeastern part of the U.S. state of New Mexico. A ghost town is a place where most or all people have left, and the buildings are often empty or falling apart. Bluit is a great example of this, as very little is left of the original community today.

What is Bluit?

Bluit was once a small community, but over time, its residents moved away. This often happens when jobs disappear, or when new roads and towns make the old ones less important. Today, Bluit is mostly abandoned, meaning there are very few signs of the buildings or people who once lived there. It's a quiet place that tells a story of the past.

Where is Bluit Located?

You can find Bluit about 12 miles east of a town called Milnesand, New Mexico. It's situated right along New Mexico State Road 262. Even though the town itself is mostly gone, there is still a cemetery nearby. The Bluit cemetery is located at 33°38′10″N 103°08′56″W / 33.63611°N 103.14889°W / 33.63611; -103.14889 (Bluit Cemetery). This cemetery is a reminder of the families who once called Bluit home.
