Discover Boca Chica
There is only one road that leads to Boca Chica. This road was paved in 2008, making it easier to reach the town. The road ends at the Pedregal River estuary, right across from Boca Brava island.
Fun Activities
Boca Chica is famous for its amazing sport fishing. Many businesses in the area are set up to help people enjoy this activity. You can find lots of different fish here, like black marlin, dorado (also known as mahi-mahi), and tuna.
Fishing Tournaments
Boca Chica even hosts a big fishing event! It's called the Annual International Jigging and Popping Tournament. The first one was held on June 11, 2009. Imagine catching a huge 130-pound yellowfin tuna and winning a $10,000 prize!
A Growing Community
Because Boca Chica is such a popular spot for fishing and island adventures, more and more people are choosing to visit or even live there. This has led to a growing community of people from other countries.
Getting Around
Boca Chica is also a favorite stop for people traveling by sailboat and powerboat. It's a safe place to anchor your boat and get supplies. You can easily reach the larger city of David and the town of Pedregal from here. Pedregal has a regional airport, and there are several bus lines that serve the area.
