Bohdan Tomaszewski (born August 10, 1921 – died February 27, 2015) was a famous Polish sports journalist, tennis player, and sports commentator. He also wrote several books about sports. People called him a "legend of Polish sports journalism." He was part of the Polish Writers Association and worked with his son, Tomasz, for the TV channel Polsat Sport.

Tomaszewski went to high school in Warsaw. He started playing tennis in 1936 for a team called Legia Warszawa. During a difficult time in Warsaw's history, he was a soldier and was known by his nickname "Mały."

After the war, he worked in a hotel in Sopot. Then he moved to Szczecin, where he became a journalist for a local newspaper. He also kept playing tennis for a team there. Later, Tomaszewski worked for a newspaper called Express Wieczorny. Soon after, he started working in TV and radio. His first time commenting on radio was in May 1947. He covered a big tennis match, the Davis Cup, between Poland and Great Britain in Warsaw.

A Voice for Sports

From 1956 to 1980, Bohdan Tomaszewski was a commentator for twelve Olympic Games! He covered both summer and winter sports. During a time of political change in Poland, he chose not to work for the state radio. He didn't return to broadcasting until 1989. In 1968, he even started his own tennis tournament, called the "Bohdan Tomaszewski Cup." He passed away in 2015 when he was 93 years old.
