Bojana Novakovic (Serbian Cyrillic: Бојана Новаковић) is an Australian actress who has appeared in many popular movies and TV shows. She was born in Belgrade, Serbia, but moved to Australia when she was a child.
You might know her from the police TV series Instinct, where she played a detective. She has also acted in major films like the horror movie Drag Me to Hell (2009), the superhero film Birds of Prey (2020), and the award-winning movie I, Tonya (2017).

Early Life and Education
Bojana Novakovic was born in Belgrade, which was then part of a country called Yugoslavia. When she was seven years old, in 1988, her family moved to Australia. Her younger sister, Valentina Novakovic, is also an actress.
At first, Bojana thought about becoming a doctor or a social worker. However, she discovered a passion for acting and decided to pursue a career in the performing arts. She attended The McDonald College in Sydney, a school known for arts and performance. In 2002, she graduated from the famous National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA), where many great actors train.
Acting Career
Bojana's career began in Australia. In 2003, she starred in a mini-series called Marking Time. Her role as Randa was so good that she won an AFI Award, which is a major Australian award for acting.
Work in Film
Bojana has acted in many films in both Australia and the United States. Some of her early Australian movies include Blackrock (1996) and Thunderstruck (2004).
She became more well-known internationally with roles in Hollywood movies. She appeared in the horror film Devil (2010) and acted alongside Mel Gibson in Edge of Darkness (2010). She also had roles in Generation Um... (2012) with Keanu Reeves and the popular biographical film I, Tonya (2017). In 2020, she played Erika Manson in the DC superhero movie Birds of Prey.
Television Roles
Besides movies, Bojana has had a successful career in television. From 2007 to 2009, she was in the Australian TV series Satisfaction.
In the United States, she had a memorable role as Bianca in the fifth season of the popular show Shameless. From 2018 to 2019, she was one of the main stars of the crime drama Instinct, playing Detective Lizzie Needham. She has also appeared in single episodes of other famous shows like Westworld and Chicago P.D..
Stage and Theatre
Bojana is also a talented stage actress. She has performed in many plays in Australia with famous theatre companies like the Sydney Theatre Company and Melbourne Theatre Company.
