Braeburn is a community made up of different neighborhoods in southwest Houston, Texas. It's located along Brays Bayou, a waterway that runs through the city. Braeburn is west of Hillcroft Avenue and south of the Sharpstown area.
The first neighborhoods in Braeburn were built after World War II. At that time, people used the Richmond Farm-to-Market Road (now called Bissonnet Street) to get into the city, instead of U.S. Highway 59. Building continued in Braeburn until the 1970s. The Braeburn Country Club is right in the middle of the community. Some of the neighborhoods you'll find here include Robindell, Braeburn Terrace, Braeburn Glen, Larkwood, Braeburn Valley, Bonham Acres, Braes Timbers, and Brae Acres. The community is close to popular places like the Galleria mall, the Texas Medical Center, and Reliant Park. Major highways like 59, 610, and the Beltway are also nearby. In recent years, the neighborhoods in Braeburn have joined together to form the Braeburn Superneighborhood. This group helps different homeowner associations work better with the City of Houston and other local organizations. The Brays Bayou hike and bike trail goes right through Braeburn.
