Brandee Evans is an American actress and a talented dancer. She is best known for her main role as Mercedes Woodbine in the popular Starz TV show, P-Valley. Before becoming a famous actress, she also worked as a choreographer and a high school English teacher.

Early Life and Career Beginnings
Brandee Evans was born in Memphis, Tennessee. Growing up, she faced challenges as she helped care for her mother, who has multiple sclerosis and Alzheimer's disease.
Before her acting career took off, Brandee was a high school English teacher. She also had a successful career as a professional dancer and choreographer. She even toured with and appeared in a music video for pop singer Katy Perry. You can spot her as "Bubblegum Girl" in the 2010 video for the song California Gurls.
Her first acting roles were smaller parts in movies and TV shows. She appeared in the 2014 film Beyond the Lights and the TV miniseries The New Edition Story.
