Brendan Peyper grew up in Bloemfontein, South Africa. He came from a farming family. He went to Hoërskool Jim Fouché and planned to study sound engineering. Brendan started playing the guitar when he was only five years old. He began his professional music career at age 14. From the start, his honest and catchy songs attracted many fans.
His very first song, Stop, wag, bly nog 'n bietjie, was a big hit. Channel 24 even called its music video the "hottest." He then released another popular song, Tafelberg vir Twee. This song also came with a new music video that many people watched.
