Brenna Huckaby, born on January 22, 1996, is an amazing American snowboarder. She has won several gold medals at the Winter Paralympics. In 2018, she earned two gold medals in snowboard cross and banked slalom. She also won a gold and a bronze medal at the 2022 Winter Paralympics. Brenna is also known for being the first Paralympian to appear in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. In 2024, she won the 'Best Athlete with a Disability' ESPY Award.

Brenna Huckaby's Early Life

Brenna Huckaby grew up with two brothers. When she was younger, she was a very good gymnast. She was even ranked nationally! Brenna started learning to snowboard at age 15. She learned at a place called the National Ability Center. To focus on her snowboarding, Brenna moved to Utah while she was still in school.

Brenna Huckaby's Snowboarding Career

Brenna Huckaby quickly became a top snowboarder. She won her first world championship in snowboarding in 2015. Then, in 2017, she won two more world championships. She took home gold medals in both snowboard cross and banked slalom events.

Paralympic Success

Brenna competed at the 2018 Winter Paralympics in Pyeongchang. She had an incredible performance there. She won gold medals in both the snowboard cross and banked slalom events.

In 2021, Brenna continued her success at the 2021 World Para Snow Sports Championships. These championships were held in Lillehammer, Norway. She won a gold medal in the women's dual banked slalom SB-LL1 event. She also earned a silver medal in the women's snowboard cross SB-LL1 event.

Brenna is classified as an SB-LL1 snowboarder. This classification helps group athletes with similar abilities. In January 2022, Brenna had to win a court case to be allowed to compete. This was because there were no specific SB-LL1 events for female snowboarders at the 2022 Winter Paralympics. Despite this challenge, she competed and won. She earned a gold medal in the women's banked slalom SB-LL2 event. She also won a bronze medal in the women's snowboard cross SB-LL2 event.

Brenna Huckaby is married to Tristan Clegg. They have two daughters. Her first daughter, Lilah, was born in 2016. Her second daughter, Sloan, was born in 2020.
