Brest Voblast (also called Brest Oblast) is a region in the country of Belarus. It is located in the southwestern part of Belarus. The main city and administrative center of this region is Brest.
Other important cities in Brest Voblast include Baranovichi and Pinsk. The region covers an area of about 32,700 square kilometers (12,600 square miles). Around 1.4 million people live here.

About Brest Voblast
Brest Voblast is one of the six main regions, or "voblasts," in Belarus. It is known for its rich history and beautiful nature. The region shares borders with Poland and Ukraine.
History of the Region
The Brest Voblast was officially formed in 1939. This happened when Western Belarus became part of the Byelorussian Soviet Socialist Republic. Over time, the region has developed into an important part of modern Belarus.
How the Region is Organized
Brest Voblast is divided into smaller areas called districts (or raions). There are 16 such districts. Within these districts, you can find:

- 9 urban-type settlements (smaller towns)
- 2,178 villages
The administrative center, Brest, is the largest city. It plays a key role in the region's government and economy.

The region is also the birthplace of famous people. For example, Tadeusz Kościuszko, a national hero of Poland, Belarus, Lithuania, and the United States, was born near Mieračoŭščyna. You can find a monument there dedicated to him.
