Brian Falkner (born July 20, 1962) is a popular author from Auckland, New Zealand. He writes exciting books for young people, including adventure stories, science fiction, and thrillers. Before becoming a full-time writer, Brian studied Computer Science at The University of Auckland. He also earned a journalism diploma and worked for Radio New Zealand. His first book for children was published in 2003. Since then, he has won many important awards, like the Sir Julius Vogel Award for Science Fiction.
Brian Falkner's Books and Stories
Brian Falkner started his writing journey with a junior fiction story about rugby league called Henry and the Flea. He has also written many books for young adults (YA), which are stories for readers aged 12 and up. These include thrilling titles like The Tomorrow Code, Brain Jack, The Project, and The Assault.
The Tomorrow Code is about two teenagers who discover a way to get secret messages from the future. It's a very popular book and can be found in many libraries around the world. Brain Jack tells the story of a young computer hacker who joins a secret group fighting cyber-terrorism. The Most Boring Book in the World (which was first called The Project) is an action-mystery novel. It follows two teens who find a very rare and unusual book. The Assault is a science fiction thriller about an alien invasion.
