A Special Book Dedication

Connections to New England

Bridget had connections to people moving to New England. Thomas Dudley was the Earl's steward. A steward managed the Earl's household and lands. Dudley helped arrange Bridget's marriage to Theophilus.

In 1631, Thomas Dudley wrote a letter to Bridget. He shared news about the settlers in New England. This letter suggests that Bridget was well-liked. She was popular among people leaving Lincolnshire for the new colonies.
