She was first chosen for the Australian Women's soccer team when she was just 16! She played her first game for Australia at 18. This was in September 1994 in Japan.

Bridgette helped her team in big tournaments. In October 1994, she played in the Oceania World Cup qualifiers. These games were in Papua New Guinea. The next month, she played in the United States Women's Cup.
