Brinley, Ohio facts for kids
Brinley is a small place in Preble County, Ohio. It's known as an unincorporated community, which means it's a settlement that doesn't have its own local government, like a city or a town.
The Story of Brinley
Long ago, Brinley was known by a slightly different name: Brinleys Station. The community began in 1855. A man named Sylvester Brinley owned some land. He gave part of his land to build a train station. In return for his land, the station and the area around it were named after him. This is how "Brinleys Station" got its name.
A post office opened there in 1860, also called Brinleys Station. Later, in 1882, its name was shortened to just Brinley. The post office eventually closed its doors in 1902.
