Brittney Cooper is an American writer, activist, and professor. She teaches about women's studies, gender studies, and Africana studies at Rutgers University–New Brunswick. She also leads the Race and Gender Equity Lab there.

Brittney Cooper grew up in Ruston, Louisiana. She is a professor at Rutgers University-New Brunswick, where she teaches about women's and gender studies and Africana studies. Brittney Cooper helped start a group called the Crunk Feminist Collective. She also helped edit a book with the same name.
