Brittney Cooper is an American writer, activist, and expert on culture. She teaches about women's and gender studies, and Africana studies, at Rutgers University–New Brunswick. She also leads the Race and Gender Equity Lab there.

About Brittney Cooper
Brittney Cooper grew up in Ruston, Louisiana. She is a professor at Rutgers University–New Brunswick. There, she teaches about women's and gender studies and Africana studies. She also started and leads the Race and Gender Equity Lab. This lab studies how race and gender affect people's lives.
Cooper helped create the Crunk Feminist Collective. This group writes and talks about important ideas. She also helped edit a book with the same name. This book explores topics like intersectionality, which is how different parts of a person's identity (like race and gender) combine. It also looks at African-American culture and hip-hop feminism. Hip-hop feminism connects feminist ideas with hip-hop music and culture.
