History of Broadford Parish Church
When Was the Church Built?
The Broadford Parish Church was built a long time ago. Construction started in 1839 and finished in 1841. This means it's over 180 years old!
This church took the place of a much older church. The original church was called Cill Chriosd and dated back to the 1500s.
What Does the Church Look Like?
The church has some interesting architectural features. You can see round-shaped windows. It also has a special bell tower called a "bellcote" with a triangular top. The main entrance has a flat design known as a "Tudor doorpiece."
Changes Over Time
Like many old buildings, Broadford Parish Church has had some updates. In 1884, repairs were made to the building. Later, in the 1930s, the inside of the church was changed to make it more modern for its time.
