Brok Weaver's Fighting Journey
Starting His Career
Brok Weaver began his professional fighting career in 2013. For a long time, he mostly fought for a group called Island Fights Promotion. He had a very good record there, winning 13 fights and losing only 4. He even became the Welterweight Champion.
Later, he got a chance to be on a TV show called Dana White's Contender Series. This show helps fighters get a contract to join the UFC. Brok won his fight on the show by a TKO (Technical Knockout) in the second round, which earned him a spot in the UFC.
Time in the UFC
Brok Weaver had his first UFC fight on February 15, 2020, against Kazula Vargas. Brok won this fight because his opponent, Vargas, used an illegal move (a knee to the head while Brok was on the ground). This is called a Disqualification (DQ) win.
On May 30, 2020, Brok fought Roosevelt Roberts. Before the fight, Brok weighed a little more than the allowed weight for his division. So, he had to pay a fine, and the fight happened at a special "catchweight." Brok lost this fight in the second round by submission, which means he had to give up.
Brok was supposed to fight Frank Camacho on September 12, 2020. But Camacho couldn't fight because he tested positive for COVID-19. Instead, Brok fought Jalin Turner at another catchweight. Brok lost this fight by submission in the second round as well.
In March 2021, Brok Weaver announced that he was no longer fighting for the UFC.
After the UFC
After leaving the UFC, Brok had his next fight on April 2, 2021, against Alexander Barahona. He won this fight by a unanimous decision, meaning all the judges agreed he was the winner.
Brok also competed in a new fighting event called Jorge Masvidal's Gamebred Fighting Championship on June 18, 2021. He fought Cliff Wright and won in the second round by ground and pound, which is when a fighter hits their opponent while they are on the ground.
Joining the PFL
Brok Weaver signed a two-year contract to fight with the PFL. He was set to make his PFL debut on August 27, 2021, but that fight did not happen. Brok has not competed in a professional fight since then.
Brok Weaver's Life Outside the Ring
Brok Weaver is a member of the MOWA Band of Choctaw Indians.
In October 2021, he started a new job as a deputy sheriff for Clarke County.
