Exploring Brookhampton's History
Brookhampton first started as a busy railway station. This station was built on the railway line that connected Donnybrook to Bridgetown. The railway line was finished in 1898.
Early Community Life
A primary school opened in Brookhampton in 1899. It helped educate the local children for many years. The school stayed open until 1940.
The local hall was a very important place for the community. In the 1920s, people would gather there for many different events. It was a central spot for everyone to meet and have fun.
