On May 16, 1734, Langrish was chosen to be a Fellow of the Royal Society. This is a very old and respected group of scientists. He then worked as a doctor in Winchester. In 1748, he earned his M.D. degree. This stands for Doctor of Medicine.

Browne Langrish passed away in Basingstoke, Hampshire, on November 12, 1759. He was buried at Winchester Cathedral later that month.

Lectures and Smallpox Advice

In 1747, Langrish gave special talks. These were called Croonian lectures. He spoke about muscular motion to the Royal Society. These talks were published as a book in 1748. In the same year, he also wrote Plain Directions in regard to the Small-pox. This book gave advice on how to deal with smallpox. Smallpox was a very serious disease back then.
