Bruck an der Mur District facts for kids
The Bruck an der Mur District was a special area, like a county, in the state of Styria in Austria. It was an important part of Austria's geography for many years. However, on January 1, 2013, this district joined with another district called Mürzzuschlag. Together, they formed a brand new, larger district known as Bruck-Mürzzuschlag. This change helped to organize the region differently.
Towns and Villages
A district is made up of many smaller towns and villages, which are called municipalities. The Bruck an der Mur District had several of these. Each municipality often includes smaller areas like suburbs or hamlets. These smaller parts are sometimes called subdivisions.
Some of the main municipalities in the former Bruck an der Mur District included:
- Aflenz Kurort
- Breitenau am Hochlantsch
- Bruck an der Mur
- Kapfenberg
- Mariazell
- Pernegg an der Mur
- Sankt Lorenzen im Mürztal
- Thörl
- Tragöß
- Turnau
These municipalities and their smaller parts, like Döllach in Aflenz Land or Hafendorf in Kapfenberg, were all part of the district. They worked together to manage local services and daily life for the people living there.
