"Burns Verkaufen der Kraftwerk" is an episode from the third season of The Simpsons. The title is German, but it's a bit grammatically incorrect. It roughly means "Burns Sells the Power Plant." The Story of the Power Plant Sale
In this episode, Mr. Burns feels a bit sad and bored. He has a lot of money and power, but he wants to try new things. So, he decides to sell his nuclear power plant. He sells it to two German investors (people who put money into a business). They pay him a huge amount: 100 million dollars!
Homer's New Bosses
After the sale, the new German owners take over. They are very strict and organized. They quickly notice Homer Simpson's incompetence (meaning he's not very good at his job). Because of this, they decide to fire Homer. This makes Homer very upset, of course!
Mr. Burns's New Life
Meanwhile, Mr. Burns is trying to enjoy his retirement. He tries new hobbies like flying a kite. But he soon realizes something important. He misses being in charge. He misses having power and control over people. He feels like he has lost his respectability (meaning people don't look up to him as much).
Buying Back the Plant
Mr. Burns decides he wants his power plant back. Luckily for him, the German investors are having trouble. The power plant is very expensive to run and fix. They decide to sell it back to Mr. Burns. They sell it for only 50 million dollars, which is half of what they paid!
Back to Normal
Mr. Burns is happy to be back in charge. He decides to rehire Homer. He says he wants to keep his "enemies" (like Homer) close to him. So, everything goes back to how it was before. Homer is back at his old job, and Mr. Burns is back in control of his plant.
