The Burton Arms Apartments was a large building finished in December 1922. It was located in the Bronx, a part of New York City. You could find it at 2115 Walton Avenue, near 181st Street (Manhattan). The building was also close to Lexington Avenue (Manhattan) and Jerome Avenue.

It was advertised as the most beautiful apartment building in all of New York City! People could get there using the subway lines like the 6th Avenue and 9th Avenue (Manhattan) subways. Another way to reach it was by the L train at Burnside Avenue.

The apartments offered different sizes, with 3, 4, or 5 rooms available for rent. The Burton Arms Apartments was an important building from the early 1920s. It provided comfortable homes for people and also had spaces for businesses.

Early History of Burton Arms

The land where Burton Arms Apartments stood was about 75 feet wide and 100 feet long. Maurice Forman bought this land from the Survell Realty Company in March 1923.

At the time of the purchase, every apartment in the building was already rented out. All eight of its ground-floor stores were also rented. The entire building was sold for $210,000. It was bought from a group known as the Armstrong Brothers.

Ownership and Income

By 1926, the Burton Arms Apartments was bringing in a lot of money. The building earned an annual rental income of $29,000. This means that each year, the owners collected $29,000 from people paying rent.

In October 1926, the building was sold again. Joseph Wikler bought the Burton Arms Apartments from the Harstein Brothers.
