History of Cabana Cachaça

Cabana Cachaça was first introduced in the United States in 2006. Before this, cachaça was not very well known outside of Brazil. It is Brazil's national drink. Even though it is one of the most distilled spirits in the world, it was new to many countries. Now, cachaça is becoming very popular in the United States. Cabana Cachaça is sold in many places, including restaurants and hotels. You can also find it in Brazil and the United Kingdom.

How Cabana Cachaça is Made

Cabana Cachaça is made from the first pressing of fresh sugarcane. The sugarcane is cut by hand. This is different from most rum, which is made from molasses. The fresh sugarcane juice is fermented. Then, it is distilled in small batches. This process gives the master distiller more control. After distillation, the spirit rests for six months. It mellows in special barrels made from Brazilian wood. This process creates a smooth drink. It has a light citrus smell and a soft taste.

Awards and Recognition

Cabana Cachaça has received several awards. In 2011, Wine Enthusiast Magazine named it one of the top 50 spirits in the world. It also won a double gold medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. A well-known spirits critic, Anthony Dias Blue, gave it a high rating of 94 points.
