How Cabana Cachaça is Made
Making Cabana Cachaça is a careful process. It starts with fresh sugarcane that is cut by hand. The juice is pressed out of the sugarcane right away. This fresh juice is then fermented.
Next, the fermented juice is distilled. Cabana uses a special method called "small-batch distillation." This means they make smaller amounts at a time in special pots called "pot stills." This allows the person in charge of making the drink, called the master distiller, to have more control. After distillation, the drink rests for about six months. It mellows in barrels made from special Brazilian wood. This process helps to give Cabana Cachaça its unique taste, which has a light citrus smell and a smooth finish.

Cabana Cachaça has received several awards for its quality. In 2011, Wine Enthusiast Magazine named it one of the top 50 drinks in the world. It also won a double gold medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. A well-known critic named Anthony Dias Blue gave Cabana Cachaça a high rating of 94 points.
