Cachaça Sapucaia is a special brand of a traditional Brazilian drink called cachaça. This company has been making its drinks in a place called Pindamonhangaba, in the São Paulo state of Brazil, since 1933.

How Sapucaia Drinks Are Made

The process of making Sapucaia drinks starts with a special ingredient: corn flour, which Brazilians call "fubá." This flour helps the liquid ferment, which is a natural process that changes its ingredients.

After fermentation, the liquid goes into a copper pot. Here, it is heated in a process called distillation. This process separates the liquid into three parts: the "head," the "core," and the "tail." The Sapucaia company is very careful. They only use the "core" part because it is the best quality. The "head" and "tail" parts are not used because they contain things that are not wanted in the final product.

Sapucaia makes different kinds of cachaça, which are aged for different amounts of time:

  • Sapucaia Florida: This type is aged for two years. It comes in two styles: white (also called silver) and aged (also called gold).
  • Sapucaia Traditional: This one is aged for five years and is known as a gold variety.
  • Sapucaia Family Reserve: This special drink is aged for ten years.
  • Sapucaia Royal: This is the oldest variety, aged for eighteen years.

Where Sapucaia Is Sold

Sapucaia drinks are not just sold in Brazil. The company has sent its products to many countries around the world. In the past, they exported to places like the United States, South Africa, and France.

Today, Sapucaia continues to sell its products internationally. You can find their drinks in countries such as the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Italy, Scotland, England, Austria, and Vietnam. Recently, the company also started selling its products in Pirassununga, a Brazilian city famous for making cachaça.
