Callan Mulvey (born 23 February 1975) is a well-known Australian actor. He became famous for his roles in Australian TV shows like Underbelly, where he played Mark Moran, and Rush, as Sergeant Brendan 'Josh' Joshua. Many people also remember him as Bogdan Drazic from the popular series Heartbreak High.

In the United States, Callan Mulvey has been in several big movies. These include 300: Rise of an Empire, and playing Jack Rollins in Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014) and Avengers: Endgame (2019). He also appeared as Anatoli Knyazev in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) and Dean/Milan in the TV series Power (2016).

Early life

Callan Mulvey was born in Auckland, New Zealand. His family has Scottish, Irish, and Māori roots. When he was seven years old, he moved to Australia. He grew up in the northern beaches area of Sydney.

Career

Before becoming an actor, Callan Mulvey enjoyed skateboarding and rollerblading. These hobbies even led him to work as a stunt double for about two years. His very first acting job was playing a robbery victim in a police training video.

In 2003, Mulvey started filming a movie called Thunderstruck. After the filming ended, he was in a serious car accident. He was badly injured and needed many months to recover. In May 2004, he returned to the public eye for the release of Thunderstruck.

Mulvey had guest appearances on popular Australian TV shows. He played Johnny Cooper on Home and Away from 2006 to 2008. He also appeared on McLeod's Daughters in 2007.

In 2008, he starred in the Australian drama series Underbelly as Mark Moran. He also appeared in the police series Rush as Sgt. Brendan "Josh" Joshua.

In 2012, he was in a drama miniseries called Bikie Wars: Brothers in Arms. In this show, he played the character Mark Anthony "Snoddy" Spencer.

Later in 2012, he appeared in Kathryn Bigelow's film Zero Dark Thirty as Saber. The next year, he starred in The Turning, which was directed by Robert Connelly.

Personal life

In 2003, Callan Mulvey was involved in a very serious car accident. He was badly injured and trapped in the car for a long time. He had to go through a lot of recovery. Sadly, he permanently lost his vision in his left eye due to the accident.

In 2010, he married Rachel Thomas in Byron Bay. Rachel is a smart person who works in academics and is also a musician.
