Cameroon (sheep) facts for kids
The Cameroon sheep is a special kind of sheep that comes from Africa. People have raised these sheep for a long time. They are now found in other places like Europe too. In 2008, there were not many of them, less than 650, but their numbers are growing!
What Makes Cameroon Sheep Special?
Cameroon sheep are known as "hair sheep." This means they have hair instead of wool, like most other sheep. They shed their hair every spring, so they don't need to be shorn (have their hair cut).
Female Cameroon sheep, called ewes, are great mothers! They can have two groups of baby lambs each year. This helps their population grow faster.
Most Cameroon sheep have a cool look. Their bodies are usually brown, but their bellies, heads, and legs are black.
