Camillo Eitzen & Co (OSE: CECO) is an international shipping company. This means they own and operate many ships that carry goods across the world's oceans. They have a fleet of 51 large vessels, including ships that carry dry goods like grain or coal (called dry bulk ships), ships that carry natural gas (called gas tankers), and ships that carry liquids like oil (called tankers).
When you include ships they manage for other companies and new ships being built, the group has a total of 136 vessels! The company is based in Oslo, Norway. It is also listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange, which is where people can buy and sell shares of the company. Camillo Eitzen & Co also owns a big part of two other companies: Eitzen Chemical and Eitzen Maritime Services.
What They Do
Camillo Eitzen & Co organizes its work into different areas based on the types of ships they operate.
Carrying Dry Goods
In the past, Camillo Eitzen & Co had a big part of a company called Eitzen Bulk Shipping. This part of the company focused on carrying dry bulk goods. However, in 2010, they sold their shares in Eitzen Bulk Shipping. This means they no longer own that part of the business.
Carrying Gas
The company has two main groups that handle gas transportation. One is called Eitzen Gas. This group operates 22 ships that carry gas, and they have six more new ships on the way. The other group is called ENGC. This group operates 18 gas-carrying ships and has three more being built. In total, these two groups operate or are waiting for 49 gas vessels.
Carrying Liquids (Tankers)
Camillo Eitzen & Co owns six tanker ships. These ships are used to carry liquids, often oil or other chemicals. They own these ships through three smaller companies. Each of these smaller companies owns a few of the tankers.
