Working as an Artist

Carol Weinstock was part of an important program called the Federal Art Project. This project was part of the Works Progress Administration (WPA). The WPA was a government program during the Great Depression. It helped many artists find work and create art for public spaces.

Her art was shown in many famous places. In 1940, her work was part of a show at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York. This show was called American Color Prints Under $10. Its goal was to make beautiful art prints affordable for everyone.

She also showed her art at other major museums. These included the Art Institute of Chicago, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Whitney Museum of American Art. In 1947, her work was featured in an exhibition at the Dallas Museum of Fine Arts. This show was organized by the National Serigraph Society.

Carol Weinstock passed away in 1971. Her important papers and records are kept safe at the Smithsonian Institution Archives of American Art.
