Carolyn Mobley's invention focused on the tab of a sanitary napkin. She added a special strip to this tab. This strip had a sticky, pressure-sensitive adhesive on one side.

How Did Her Idea Work?

The sticky part of the strip was covered by a stiff, protective layer. This cover made the tab firm and easy to handle. It helped users guide the tab through the clasp of a sanitary belt.

Making Disposal Easier

After use, the person could remove the stiff cover strip. This exposed the sticky adhesive. The napkin could then be rolled up neatly and secured with the adhesive patch. This made disposal much cleaner and simpler.
