Carrer de Pelai is a very popular street in Barcelona, Spain. It's known for its many shops and is one of the busiest streets during the day. This street is special because it forms the border between two important areas of the city: Ciutat Vella (the Old City) and Eixample (a newer, planned part of the city).

Carrer de Pelai stretches from Plaça de Catalunya, a big central square where La Rambla street begins, all the way to Plaça de la Universitat. It's named after King Pelagius, a famous king from the old kingdom of Asturias. The city council officially approved the Catalan name "Carrer de Pelai" in 1980, but it had been called that even before the year 1900.
