Catawba, Missouri facts for kids
Catawba is a small place in Caldwell County, Missouri, in the United States. It's called an "unincorporated community," which means it's a group of homes and businesses that isn't officially a town or city with its own local government.
History of Catawba
Catawba was first planned out in 1884. It got its name from a group of catalpa trees that grew nearby. These trees have big, heart-shaped leaves and long seed pods.
Before it was planned, a post office opened in Catawba in 1872. This post office helped people send and receive mail for many years. It stayed open until 1905, when it closed down.
