Early Years and Learning
Cecil Pringle was born in 1943, near a town called Clones, County Monaghan in Ireland. He went to college at Trinity College, Dublin, which is a very old and famous university. He also studied at the Church of Ireland Theological College to become a priest. In 1967, he officially became a priest, ready to serve his community.
Helping Communities as a Priest
After becoming a priest, Cecil Pringle started his work in Belfast. This first job for a new priest is often called a "curacy." Later, he became the main priest, or "vicar," for churches in places like Cleenish and Rossorry. In these roles, he led church services, helped people, and supported his local communities.
A Valued Leader
Cecil Pringle worked as the Archdeacon of Clogher for a long time, from 1989 until he retired in 2014. When he retired, Bishop John McDowell praised him. The Bishop said that Cecil Pringle knew a lot about the Clogher area and had used all his skills and dedication to serve as Archdeacon. This shows how much he was respected for his hard work and commitment to the church and its people.
Cecil Pringle passed away on 29 July 2025. He is remembered for his long and dedicated service.
