Cerro Pico Blanco facts for kids
The Cerro Pico Blanco is a mountain in Costa Rica, known for its beautiful views and hiking trails. It's the second tallest peak in the Cerros de Escazú mountain range. Its top reaches about 2,428 meters (7,966 feet) high!
The name Pico Blanco means 'white peak' in Spanish. This name comes from a rocky area near the very top of the mountain. From far away, especially from the Central Valley, this rocky spot looks light gray, almost white.
Cerro Pico Blanco is a great place for a one-day hike. Many people enjoy exploring its trails and seeing the nature around it. It might even be a good spot for rock climbing in the future!
Even though it shares a similar name, Cerro Pico Blanco is not connected to the rare Pico Blanco Toad. That special toad is found in a different area, further to the southeast.
