History of Chalmers Church
How the Church Building Began
The building we see today was built a long time ago, in 1890. Back then, it was known as The Chalmers Free Presbyterian Church. It was a place for people who followed the Presbyterian faith.
Becoming Part of the United Church
Later, in 1925, something big happened in Canada. Many different churches, like Presbyterian, Methodist, and Congregational churches, decided to join together. They formed a new group called the United Church of Canada. When this happened, The Chalmers Free Presbyterian Church became part of this new group. That's when its name changed to Chalmers United Church, which it is still called today.
