Charles George Gamble's Life

Charles George Gamble was the oldest son of Major George Francis Gamble and Florence Johnston. He studied law at Trinity College Dublin, a famous university in Ireland. After his studies, he became a solicitor. A solicitor is a type of lawyer who helps people with legal problems and prepares legal documents. He worked as a partner in a law firm called Carruthers & Gamble in Dublin.

He also served as a Justice of the Peace for County Dublin. A Justice of the Peace is a person who helps keep the peace and deals with minor legal matters in their local area.

Gamble was involved with the Church of Ireland. He was on the main committee of the Representative Church Body, which helps manage the church's affairs. In 1920, he was chosen to be the President of the Law Society of Ireland. This is a very important role for lawyers in Ireland.

In 1921, Charles Gamble was picked to join the Senate of Southern Ireland. This was a special group of people who helped make laws. However, this Senate only met twice before it was closed down.
