Charles Jenkins II was born in Saint Petersburg, Florida, on December 14, 1975. He went to college and studied at two places: Moody Bible Institute and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. After finishing his studies, he became a senior pastor. He led the Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church of Chicago from 2000 to 2019. This church was started by Clay Evans.
His Music Career Journey
Charles Jenkins started his music career in April 2012. His first song, "Awesome," was released then. Soon after, his album The Best of Both Worlds came out on June 12, 2012. This album was a big success for him. It reached number 41 on the Billboard 200 chart. It also hit number 1 on the Gospel Albums chart. Music critics liked the album too. AllMusic gave it four out of five stars. Cross Rhythms rated it eight out of ten.
His next album, Any Given Sunday, was released on March 17, 2015. This album also did very well. It reached number 90 on the Billboard 200 chart. Just like his first album, it also climbed to number 1 on the Gospel Albums chart.
