Charles Hercules Nicks, Jr. (born July 18, 1941 – died July 28, 1988) was an American gospel musician. He was also a pastor, organist, and accompanist at St. James Baptist Church in Detroit, Michigan.
Rev. Nicks released his first music project in 1985. It was called Come Unto Jesus and was released by Sound of Gospel. He released several albums during his lifetime. Other albums were released after he passed away. Many of his albums appeared on the Billboard magazine Gospel Albums chart. These albums included Free Spirit, Free Spirit Vol 2, St. Louis & East St. Louis Chapter of GMWA, and The Unforgettable Years.

Charles Nicks was born on July 18, 1941. His birthplace was Lincoln, Nebraska. His father, Charles Hercules Nicks, Sr., was a Baptist preacher. His mother, Alliece Mahala Nicks, was a pianist. They named him after his father.
His mother greatly influenced his early musical journey. She inspired him to learn to play the organ. He worked hard to master the instrument. By age 16, he became the organist at his father's church. Later, Rev. Charles H. Nicks, Jr. became the pastor of St. James Missionary Baptist Church. He served there from 1972 to 1988.

Charles Nicks was married to Lucille Monroe. He passed away in Detroit, Michigan. He had a sister named Beverley Nicks. She lives in Los Angeles, California.
