He also became the 6th Lord Abernethy, the 6th Lord Doune, and the 4th Lord Saint Colme. These titles showed his family's long history and importance in Scotland. In 1731, he was honored with the title Knight of the Order of the Thistle (K.T.). This is a very special award given in Scotland.

Family Life

Charles Stuart married Lady Anne Campbell. She was the daughter of Archibald Campbell, the 9th Earl of Argyll, and Lady Mary Stuart. They were married sometime after 1695. Charles and Lady Anne had one daughter, but they did not have any sons who lived to inherit his titles.

A Time of Change: The Jacobites
