Her Early Life and School Days

Charlotte Strömberg was born in Stockholm, Sweden. She grew up in two other Swedish towns, Sunne and Hässleholm. Her parents were both lawyers. When she was growing up, she had many different jobs. She worked as a seller, a helper in a hospital, a security guard, and even a swimming instructor.

She studied at the Stockholm School of Economics. There, she earned her MBA degree. An MBA helps people learn how to run businesses. She also started some research in financial economics but did not finish it.

Her Journey in Business

Charlotte Strömberg began her career as a teacher. She taught about costs and benefits at a special institute in Stockholm. After teaching, she became a financial analyst. This means she studied how companies make and spend money. She worked for investment companies like Swedbank Robur and Alfred Berg. At Alfred Berg, she also advised companies on their finances.

In 1997, Charlotte joined Carnegie Investment Bank. She became the head of investment banking for the Nordic countries. This involved helping companies raise money and grow. In 2006, she became the CEO for the Nordic part of Jones Lang LaSalle. This company helps manage investments, especially in real estate. Real estate means buildings and land. In 2011, she left her CEO role. But she stayed on as a member of the company's board.

Helping Companies as a Board Member

Charlotte Strömberg's first role on a company board was for the fashion company GANT. This was from 2005 to 2007. A board member helps guide a company and make important decisions.

Today, she is a board member for several different companies. These include the real estate company Castellum, the Swedish clothing company Boomerang, and the Fourth AP pension fund. She also serves on the board of Intrum Justitia, which is a collection agency. Other boards she is on include Karolinska Institutet, Skanska, and Ratos. Until 2014, she was also a member of the Swedbank board.

In February 2015, a business magazine called Veckans Affärer ranked her. They said she was the most powerful female board member in Sweden.

Outside of Work

Charlotte Strömberg is married and has two children.
