Chase Alan Hooper (born September 13, 1999) is an American athlete who competes in mixed martial arts (MMA). He is known for his skills in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Chase currently fights in the Lightweight division for the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).

Chase Hooper's MMA Journey

Chase Hooper started his MMA journey as an amateur while he was still in high school. He quickly became very good, winning all five of his amateur fights. Four of these wins were by "stoppage," meaning the fight ended early. His strong skills in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu helped him a lot. He even won a gold medal at the Pan American Jiu-Jitsu Championships as a blue belt.

Joining the UFC

Chase got a big chance to join the UFC through a show called Dana White's Contender Series. He won his fight there by a unanimous decision. This meant all the judges agreed he won. After that, he fought in a few more smaller events, winning two fights and having one draw. Then, he officially signed with the UFC.

First UFC Fights

Chase made his first appearance in the UFC on December 14, 2019, at UFC 245. He won his first UFC fight by technical knockout in the first round. This was a great start to his career in the big league.

His next fight was on June 6, 2020, at UFC 250, where he faced Alex Caceres. Chase lost this fight by unanimous decision. This was his first loss as a professional fighter.

Comeback Wins and Challenges

On December 12, 2020, Chase fought Peter Barrett at UFC 256. He showed great determination by coming back to win in the third round. He won with a special move called a "heel hook submission."

In his fight on June 12, 2021, at UFC 263, Chase faced Steven Peterson. Peterson weighed more than allowed for their weight class. Even though Peterson was fined, the fight still happened. Chase lost this fight by unanimous decision.

Recent Victories and Awards

Chase Hooper continued to improve and win. On May 21, 2022, he fought Felipe Colares at UFC Fight Night 206. Chase won this fight by technical knockout in the third round. This impressive win earned him the Performance of the Night award. This award is given to fighters who have an outstanding performance.

He faced Steve Garcia on October 29, 2022, at UFC Fight Night 213. Chase lost this fight in the first round.

On May 20, 2023, Chase fought Nick Fiore at UFC Fight Night 223. He won this fight by unanimous decision. This fight marked his return to the Lightweight division.

Chase then fought Jordan Leavitt on November 18, 2023, at UFC Fight Night 232. He won this fight in the first round using a "rear-naked choke" submission.

On May 11, 2024, Chase faced Viacheslav Borshchev at UFC on ESPN 56. Chase won the fight in the second round with a "brabo choke" submission.

Chase fought former champion Clay Guida on December 7, 2024, at UFC 310. He won this exciting fight in the first round with an "armbar" submission. This amazing performance earned him another Performance of the Night award.

Most recently, Chase Hooper fought Jim Miller on April 12, 2025, at UFC 314. Chase won this fight by unanimous decision.

Chase Hooper's Grappling Skills

Besides MMA, Chase Hooper also competes in professional grappling. Grappling is a type of combat sport that focuses on wrestling and submission holds, without striking.

He competed against Renato Moicano on December 30, 2021, and lost that match.

On December 30, 2022, Chase faced Clay Guida again, this time in a grappling match. Chase won by making Guida give up using a "calf-slicer" move.

On January 19, 2024, Chase competed against Aljamain Sterling in a big grappling event called ADXC 2. He lost this match by a split decision, meaning the judges were divided on who won.
