The Chase Tower is a very tall building in Phoenix, Arizona. It is the tallest building in the whole state of Arizona! It was built in 1972 and stands 483 feet (147 meters) high. That's like 40 stories tall!
This building has had a few names. It was first called Valley Center, then Bank One Center. In 2005, it became the Chase Tower. The highest floor people can work on is the 38th floor. There used to be a public viewing area on the 39th floor, but it's now closed.

What Does the Chase Tower Look Like?
The Chase Tower is so big it takes up an entire city block! Its shape looks a bit like a three-leaf clover with a stem. The "stem" part is a narrow section on the south side of the building. This part holds the elevators. It has a rough, concrete look and is the tallest part of the tower.
Most of the building's outside walls are made of glass panels. The "leaves" or "wings" of the clover shape are different heights. The west wing is 34 stories tall, the north wing is 38 stories, and the east wing is 36 stories.
Unlike many tall buildings that have shops right on the street, you enter the Chase Tower through an underground area. This area has restaurants and shops.
Who Designed and Built It?
The Chase Tower was designed by a famous architecture company called Welton Becket and Associates from Los Angeles. They worked with local architects, Guirey, Srnka, Arnold & Sprinkle. The building was constructed by the Henry C. Beck Company.
When the tower was finished in 1972, it helped bring new building projects to downtown Phoenix. This growth continued for almost 20 years.
The building is located at 201 North Central Avenue. In 2003, it was updated to make space for 800 more employees of Bank One.
Who Owns the Building?
Over the years, the Chase Tower has been bought and sold by different companies. In 2007, a company called CRZ Phoenix bought it for a lot of money. Later, in 2018, a group managed by Wentworth Property Company bought the building. A few months after that, a person named Vincent Viola purchased it.
In Pop Culture
The Chase Tower was even shown in a TV series called Life After People on the History Channel.
